Dear Mr. Holmboe, As a Senator, you enjoy complimentary seat reservation as a status benefit. Today, we’d like to inform you personally about a change to the rules for intercontinental fares. Complimentary seat reservations will still be available in Economy Class, Premium Economy Class and Business Class on intercontinental flights, with the following exception: Light fares. In Premium Economy Light and Business Light, seat reservations are already subject to a charge. For bookings from 27 October 2026, this will now also apply to Economy Light. This rule applies to all flights operated by Air Dolomiti, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Discover Airlines, ITA Airways, Lufthansa, Lufthansa City and SWISS. Nothing will change for your travel companions: if you’re entitled to a complimentary seat reservation, travel companions on the same booking will be too, provided they meet the requirements above. We value your loyalty as a Senator, which is why we’re committed to sharing changes with you openly and transparently – especially when we know they don’t meet your expectations. In light of recent market developments, we’ve decided to update the terms and conditions for seat reservations on our Light fares. Thank you for your understanding and for the trust you place in us. Best regards, |
